The fifth Vietnam-China People’s Forum was held in the northern Ninh Binh province from October 11-13 to further deepen the mutual understanding between the two peoples.

The event drew the participation of scholars, former diplomats, soldiers, journalists and entrepreneurs from the two countries.

Participants discussed the significance of the Vietnam-China relationship to each country’s development, and agreed that notable achievements have been recorded in the bilateral ties over the past time, with regular high-ranking leader exchanges, numerous cooperation documents, and a better mutual understanding.

They shared the hope that the two sides will strengthen cooperation on the land, sea issues, financial and monetary issues in the coming time.

More efforts are also needed to find measures to settle the differences on the sea, ensuring a sea of peace, friendship and cooperation, and contribute to the sound development and stability of the two countries, as well as peace, stability and prosperity in the region.-VNA
