A delegation of 10 French companies will be present in Vietnam from Nov. 22-26 to take part in the “Espace France ” organised by UBIFRANCE Vietnam during the VIETWATER 2011 exhibition to be held in Ho Chi Minh City .

The French participation aims at strengthening relations between French and Vietnamese companies in the water supply and treatment sector and at developing commercial, industrial and technological partnerships in a sustainable manner.

The French companies will get the opportunity to improve their understanding of Vietnam ’s policy in the sector.

They will also have a chance to meet bilateral and multilateral donors, including Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the World Bank (WB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Hanoi in order to increase the understanding of the needs in the Vietnamese water sector.

The water sector is a priority of the Government which has set ambitious objectives to be reached by 2020, including supply of safe drinking water for 100 percent of the urban population, and treatment of 80 percent of sewage and reduction of the leakage rate within the system, which is currently over 30 percent./.
