A friendly ice hockey match was held in Hanoi on January 13 between Canadian and Vietnamese amateur players as part of the Canada-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group’s visit to Vietnam.

Players included visiting Canadian parliamentarians and entrepreneurs, Vietnamese officials and representatives from the Vietnam–Canada Friendship Parliamentary Group.

The Canadian side won the game 17–8.

Congressman Patrick Brown, head of the Canada–Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group, said the match was an opportunity for the Canadian side to introduce their national sport to Vietnamese people. He added that this event would help tighten both sides’ solidarity and friendship.

Earlier the same day, the organisations and the Canadian Embassy held a talk on the country’s educational environment.-VNA
