An artistic gala evening took place at the My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi on January 19 to celebrate the success of the 11 th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

Attending the special event were the new Party General Secretary and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung and many other Party and State leaders.

Speaking at the gala, the newly-elected Party chief extended his deep thanks to the entire Party, people and army, overseas Vietnamese and international friends for their valuable recommendations, fine sentiments, strong confidence and encouragement for the 11 th National Party Congress.

He expressed his wish that Party committees at all levels, local authorities, the Fatherland Front and other mass organisations will focus on leading and encouraging cadres, Party members and people from all walks of life to promote the popularisation of the 11 th National Party Congress’s Resolution as well as patriotic emulation movements to implement the resolution.

The Party leader stressed that the immediate task is to step up production, take care of the life of people during Tet, especially beneficiaries of welfare policies and inhabitants in mountainous and remote areas; overcome the consequences of the on-going prolonged cold spells; strengthen market management and ensure traffic safety during the holidays.

On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year, General Secretary Trong wished the whole Party, people and army a happy Tet holiday.
With the participation of artists from all regions of the country, the artistic programme featured dances and songs praising the Party and President Ho Chi Minh as well as expressing love towards the fatherland, pride at the country’s renewal and development achievements, the belief in the brighter future of the country and the determination to successfully implement the Resolution of the 11 th National Party Congress./.
