A get-together was held in Belgium’s East Flanders region on November 28 to enhance the linkage between local businesses and Vietnamese students who are studying in the regional capital city of Gent.

The event was to facilitate the Vietnamese students to better understand the partnership between Belgian companies and Vietnamese partners as well as help these enterprises seek manpower among the students.

Duong Minh Tri, a representative from the Belgium-Vietnam Association, the association will continue to organise similar get-togethers to connect Belgian businesses and Vietnamese students in the Wallonia-Brussels and Namur regions.

From the PwC Belgium consultancy company, Xavier Potier highly valued Vietnamese students’ ability and expressed his hope that they will become his company’s promising staff.

Vietnam and Belgium, including the East Flanders region, are enjoying their thriving economic ties. The region now operates many projects in Vietnam specialising in diamond industry, port services and logistics, high technology, health, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and processing.

Trade between Vietnam and the East Flanders region reached 1.2 billion EUR last year, of which Vietnam’s exports were at 976 million EUR, a year-on-year increase of 34.7 percent. The country mainly shipped footwear, garment and textile, leather products and precious stones in the region.-VNA
