The eighth theoretical workshop between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) opened in Ha Long City in the northern Quang Ninh province on June 7.

Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Secretary of the CPV’s Central Committee and Head of the Popularisation and Education Commission and Liu Yunshan, Politburo member, Secretary of the CPC’s Central Committee’s Secretariat and Director of the CPC’s Propaganda Department attended the event along with a number of other senior officials from both Parties.

The focus of the seminar was enhancing Vietnam ’s model of economic growth and changing the methods of economic development used in China .

The delegates heard a report on how to restructure and review Vietnam ’s model of economic growth by Dinh The Huynh as well as a proposal of how to adapt the ways China develops its economy by Liu Yunshan.

Huynh said the theoretical talks between the two Parties will clarify theoretical issues related to economic restructuring, models of economic growth and ways of developing the economies of both nations.

He said that he believed that in a spirit of comradeship and openness, the workshop will help both Parties enrich their knowledge, sharpen their theory and successfully carry out their tasks of promoting the revolutionary cause in their respective countries.

Liu said the workshop will help both Parties to fully understand the socio-economic development process and promote national modernisation and socialism.

The theoretical workshop has become part of the cooperation mechanism between the two Parties and the two nations, he added.

The delegates will hear several reports and hold in-depth discussions on issues of common concern during the three-day workshop.-VNA
