The central province of Ha Tinh should employ synchronous measures for getting rid of poverty and achieving rapid and sustainable development, the National Assembly Chairman said.

NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung addressed a ceremony marking Ha Tinh province’s 180 th founding anniversary (1831-2011) and 20 year of its reestablishment on August 11.

“Ha Tinh needs to make every effort to have a well-developed agriculture, and thriving industries and services by 2015,” he stressed.

He advised the province to work out long-term development plans, renovate the growth model and boost economic restructuring to realize the 2015 goals.

Ha Tinh should focus on ensuring social welfare, reducing poverty and further improving local people’s material and spiritual life.

It needs to pay due attention to Party building work, the fight against corruption, bureaucracy and waste, the strengthening of unity in the Party organisation, and the creation of a consensus in society, Hung said, asking the locality to take it as a key task in the course of implementing its set goals.

At the ceremony, NA Chairman Hung presented the Ho Chi Minh Order - the noble distinction of the Party and State to Ha Tinh province, for its outstanding contributions to the national construction and defence cause./.
