The Hanoi chapter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Chinese Communist Youth League (CCYL) Beijing Committee have discussed ways to train communist youth union cadres, and do research of topics related to youth and their unions.

During a seminar held in Hanoi on June 24, the two sides briefed each other on their own organisational apparatus and activities, and discussed measures to continue implementing their signed cooperation programmes and agreements.

In the past, the Hanoi chapter and CCYL Beijing have maintained regular visits and exchanges. In 2011, the two sides signed an agreement on intensifying ties for the 2011-2013 period to strengthen and diversify friendship cooperation between the two organisations and bolster all-level exchanges between the two cities’ youth.

Accordingly, the two sides take turns to hold the five-day “Hanoi–Beijing Youth Friendship Exchange” to foster ties between the youth of the two cities.

They also agreed to strengthen the training and exchange of youth union cadres. The Chinese side will hold a training course for Vietnamese cadres in Beijing in two weeks.

They will together conduct research on youth and their unions, organise exchanges and workshops on building youth union organisations and volunteer works, as well as establish an effective, long-term cooperation mechanism based on equality, mutual trust, respect and understanding.-VNA
