Hanoi (VNA)
– The consumer price index in Hanoi in May expanded 0.35 percent from April and 2.4 percent from the same month last year, the municipal Statistics Office (GSO) reported on May 24.

The highest hike was spotted in transportation services, which edged up 2.07 percent from April.
The group of post-telecommunication and education remained stable while cultural, entertainment and tourism services experienced a decline of 0.19 percent.

Gold price saw a rise of 1.5 percent and the VND/USD exchange rate was up 0.01 percent.

In the reviewed month, the capital’s export earnings were estimated to hit 897 million USD, rising 2.7 percent from April but declining 1.9 percent from the same month last year.

Shipments of electronics, means of transport and spare parts, machinery and components continued to experience a rise while farm produce suffered a continual drop.-VNA
