Hanoi will offer financial support worth 2 million USD to the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh to build a primary school.

The agreement was reached between Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao and Phnom Penh Governor Paso Cheatevong in the Cambodian city on January 10.

The construction of Daun Penh School is scheduled to begin on October 11 in the presence of officials from the two capitals, before becoming operational in time for the 2014 – 2015 school year.

Governor Cheatevong paid tribute to Hanoi ’s practical assistance to Phnom Penh’s education system.

In return, Chairman Thao expressed his belief that the traditional friendship and mutual support between Vietnam and Cambodia - as well as between both cities - will further flourish.-VNA
