Vietnam’s first International Exhibition of Construction Technologies, Vietconstech 2012, got underway in the capital on June 27.

The three-day exhibition is an opportunity for both domestic and overseas businesses to promote their products and technical competence, develop trade links with potential partners and examine new sciences and technologies in practice, said Minister of Construction Trinh Dinh Dung.

Eighty businesses are showcasing their products and services, 53 of which are state-owned, including the Vietnam Industry and Construction Group, the Vietnam-Russia oil and gas joint venture, Vietsovpetro, and Vinaconex.

In particular, Japan’s International Nuclear Energy Development Company (JINED) and the corporation SHIMIZU have brought their solutions for building safe nuclear power stations and subway networks, which are of public interest in Vietnam .

A number of technical solutions for housing construction will also be highlighted at the event.

This is the first time the Ministry of Construction along with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have organised a major construction technology trade fair.-VNA
