The Hanoian duo had a perfect performance at the Quan Ngua Sports Palace to beat other dancers from Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong and Da Nang for gold.
Ngo Minh Duc and Cao Thi Van Diem then bagged another gold for Hanoi, as they out-classed the competition in Latin’s Rumba.
Nguyen Doan Phan Hien and Nguyen Khanh Thi won two golds in the cha-cha and jive , while Philippines couple Emmanuel Reyes and Maira Rosete won the gold in the standard’s five dances at the Vietnam Open Dance Sport contest, which opened here on Sept. 17.
Couples from more than 30 countries and territories continue in Latin’s three and five dances finals on Sept. 18.
According to Nguyen Kim Lan, vice chairwoman of the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation, the national championship is an important tournament that will prepare dancers for the coming Asian Indoor Games in Vietnam next month./.
