Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi wishes to step up its partnerships with Belarusian localities, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung told Belarusian Ambassador Valery Sadokho on June 8.

During their meeting in Hanoi, the official pledged that his city will create optimal conditions for Belarusian businesses to study the local market and join investment projects in the city, Ha Noi Moi newspaper reported.

It quoted Chung as saying that Hanoi wants to learn from experience of other countries, including Belarus, to serve its development and modernization.

Chung noted his hope that the ambassador will make significant contributions to boosting the relationship between Vietnam and Belarus and deepening their friendly cooperation in a more substantive and effective manner.

For his part, Valery Sadokho said the bilateral ties are expected to make outstanding strides after the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasia Economic Union, encompassing Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, comes into effect.

He conveyed the Minsk Mayor’s invitation to Chung to visit the Belarusian capital city.

On this occasion, representatives of Belarusian transport businesses introduced several projects in which they are seeking cooperation with Hanoi in the time ahead.-VNA
