Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Quoc Hung has approved a project to build a 18-billion VND (839,000 USD) car park complex, named Hai Boi, Dong Anh district on the outskirts of Hanoi.

The online newspaper VnMedia reported that the complex covers 14,047sqm, divided into several functional sections, including a car park (2,509sq.m), green area (4,393sq.m), internal roads (5,502sq.m) and administration building (117sq.m), as well as a car wash (117sq.m), technical utilities (electricity and water (53sq.m) and a reservoir (1,311sq.m).

VnMedia interviewed a city leader, who said the car park complex was designed to help meet the rising car parking needs in Dong Anh district and the city as a whole.

The leader, who did not want to be named, said the Hanoi Trade Corporation (Hapro), the car park's developer, has been told to keep the complex's design in harmony with other projects nearby, and in line with the district planning as well.

He said the city had drawn the developer's particular attention to ensuring the safety of the railways, roads, bridges and bridge link roads in the neighbourhood, while carrying out its work.

Work on the project is scheduled to start from the third quarter this year and end in 2017.-VNA
