Hanoi (VNA) - The 8th International Exhibition of Shipbuilding, Marine Technology and Transportation (VietShip 2016) will take place in Hanoi from February 24-26.

The event hopes to draw 130 companies, including 78 foreign firms from Germany, the Netherlands, Turkey, the US, France, the UK, Finland, Denmark, the Republic of Korea, Norway, Russia, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and China.

Participants will showcase products and services for shipbuilding, offshore facilities, marine transportation, finance, insurance, consulting and training services.

The event will offer businesses and investors access to the latest information in the field and the chance to share new cutting-edge technology and seek investment opportunities to develop the shipbuilding industry in Vietnam and the world at large.

It is expected to lure around 10,000 visitors, including ship builders, manufacturers and suppliers, together with leading scientists, designers and technicians.

Vietship 2016 will be organised by the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (SBIC) at the National Convention Centre.-VNA
