The International Choir and Orchestra of Ho Chi Minh City (ICOH) will entertain the city with a night of classic music and dance performances by Vietnamese and foreign artists on May 23.

That Celestial Sound will present masterpieces from classical composers including Johannes Brahms's Wie Lieblich Sind Deine Wohnungen from A German Requiem, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Trinitatis Mass, John Wilbye's As Matchless Beauty, Henry Purcell's Come, Ye Sons of Art, and Michel Richard de Lalande's Benedictus Dominus.

Compositions from modern composers Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen and Dello Joio will also be featured.

Conductor Ian Alexander will lead the orchestra and choir in the concert. Dancers from Loyola University from the US city of Chicago will join the event, too.

The programme's artistic director is Brian Riedlinger.

All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Loreto Kids Charity.

Founded in 1995, the ICOH consists of Vietnamese and foreign volunteer singers.

Their repertoire includes classic works by Handel, Mozart, Haydn, Vivaldi and many other famous composers, as well as songs from musicals, traditional songs and Christmas carols in many languages.
They have given public concerts twice a year to raise money for charity organisations.-VNA
