Ho Chi Minh City has put into use 44 new schools at all levels for the 2015-2016 academic year, including 36 pre-schools and kindergartens, according to the municipal Department of Education and Training.

With the operation of these schools, the city will have an additional 1,263 classrooms to serve this school year.

According to the municipal Department of Education and Training, this year, the number of students in the city increases by over 85,000 at all levels, with 52,000 entering kindergartens and primary schools.

The sector plans to recruit about 4,000 teachers, including 685 for kindergartens, 1,508 for primary schools, 1,289 for secondary schools and 549 for high schools.

The city has also completed and put into operation five kindergartens in the industrial parks of Hiep Phuoc, Tan Binh and Cat Lai, capable of receiving about 1,400 kids.

Other 15 kindergarten projects are now being implemented in nine industrial zones.-VNA
