- Ho Chi Minh City and Seoul, the Republic of Korea (RoK) have agreed to boost friendship and bilateral cooperation.

A document to this effect was signed by Vice Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Le Van Khoa and Seoul Vice Mayor Gyoung-gee Liu in HCM City on October 31.

Under the agreement, the two sides will actively conduct exchanges and foster cooperation in developing urban infrastructure, education, tourism, and trade promotion.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Khoa highlighted the signing of the agreement as a beginning for implementing joint projects and deepening cooperation between the two cities, thus contributing to developing the strategic cooperative partnership between the two nations.

Khoa expressed his hope that RoK enterprises will invest more in the sectors with high demand as transport infrastructure, flood prevention, and environment pollution.

Gyoung-gee Liu said the agreement will lay a foundation for the two cities’ cooperation in all fields.

Seoul is willing to share with HCM City its experiences and solutions in dealing with issues arisen during urban development process, he said.

The same day, a workshop was organised to promote cooperation between the two cities in urban transport construction and management.-VNA
