Businesses in the Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) and the Japanese prefecture of Shiga will be provided with opportunities for business links following an agreement between the two sides.

Under the pact signed in Ho Chi Minh City on September 5, the two sides will support businesses’ development and research activities, update socio-economic information, and aid Vietnamese firms to join fairs and exhibitions in Japan.

The two sides agreed to accelerate a cooperation agreement between the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and Shiga authorities.

Le Hoai Quoc, head of the SHTP, said the park has zoned off an area of nearly 20 hectares for Japanese small-and-medium-sized enterprises in supporting industry as an effort to attract investment flow from Japan.

Shiga prefecture, forming part of the Kansai region in Japan, has developed into an area with the concentration of production businesses.

Located 15 kilometres from downtown Ho Chi Minh City, the SHTP is a park for hi-technology enterprises. Several world leading high-tech companies such as Us Intel and French Air Liquide have invested in the park.-VNA
