HCM City (VNA) – Construction on the Bung Bridge project in HCM City’s Tan Phu and Binh Tan districts will begin in April, according to the city’s Urban Traffic Management Zone No.1.

The 560m-long bridge will span the Tham Luong Canal on Le Trong Tan Street in the districts of Tan Phu and Binh Tan.

Le Trong Tan street in Binh Tan district will be widened to 30-40m and in Tan Phu district to 30-35m wide. After expansion, the street will have six lanes.

The work, to cost 514.5 billion VND (23 million USD), is expected to be completed in 20 months.

Le Trong Tan street’s section at the location where the bridge will be built is now only seven metres wide with two lanes, causing traffic congestion, especially during rush hour.-VNA
