The Thai Fight World Battle Vietnam will be organised at Ho Chi Minh City's Phu Tho Gymnasium on September 20.

Sixteen Muay Thai fighters from leading centres of the martial art such as Thailand, France and Vietnam will participate in the international event.

Among them France's Antonie Pinto is a powerful contender for the title. Pinto has won 117 of the 152 matches that he has fought in the 67-kilogram category. The 23-year-old was the World Muay Council I-1 Grand Prix Champion 2012.

Sudsakorn Sor Klinnmee of Thailand is another strong fighter.

He has had 225 wins in 263 matches and is the defending champion of the Champion Thai Fight Kark Chuek.

Vietnam is sending two fighters, Nguyen Phu Hien and Nguyen Tran Tu Do, to the tournament. Hien, 26, has fought 35 matches and won 25, while 22-year-old Do has won 13 of 20 matches. Do made quite an impression by winning the silver medal at the 2012 Asian championship and three gold medals in the national tournament.

People will be able to watch eight games from 5pm at the Thai Fight World Battle's debut in Vietnam.

In the first match, Do will face Sliman Zegnoun of France in the 64-kilogram class. Hien will then fight Australian Arkheem Lucchiari in the under 57-kilogram category.

While entry is free at the venue, seven matches will be aired live on Let's Viet channel.-VNA
