The victim was a woman who was 39-weeks pregnant, from the southern province of Dong Nai, who died on Sept. 29.
Fortunately, her baby girl survived.
The ministry also reported 205 more cases of the super flu on the day, bringing the total number of patients to 9,058 with 16 fatalities by 5 pm on Sept. 30.
According to Head of the Preventive Medicine and Environment Department Nguyen Huy Nga, only four out of 63 cities and provinces nationwide are free of the disease, namely Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Dien Bien and Lai Chau in the northern mountainous areas./.
