As many as 19 travel agencies operating in the Central Highland province of Lam Dong’s Da Lat have offered promotion programmes for their services in a bid to attract more holiday-makers to the resort city in this year’s summer months.

Accordingly, the price of entrance tickets to many tourism sites, including Thung Lung Vang (Yellow Valley) and Prenn and Cam Ly waterfalls, have been reduced up to 50 percent. Meanwhile, a 10 percent discount rate is also being offered for those taking package tours to Bidoup National Park and the Dam B’Ri waterfall tourism site.

Several resort areas and big hotels in Da Lat are also providing discounted accommodation to visitors during the summer.

Many new products and services, including outdoor and venture sporting activities, are also being adopted to meet the leisure demands of tourists.

From June to August this year, a wide range of cultural events, including an exhibition on Central Highland culture, a food festival, a Vietnamese film week and a traditional musical festival, are being held in the city in the hope of luring more visitors.

A robust increase in the number of visitors to the city has been recorded from early this month.

In May, the city received over 208,000 arrivals, up 14.4 percent against the same period last year. Of the number, foreign holiday-makers accounted for 13,000, a year-on-year increase of 38.4 percent.-VNA
