Surgeons from the Viet Duc Friendship Hospital have successfully performed a liver graft surgery on a 44-year-old man from central city of Da Nang .

This is the second liver graft conducted on adults by the hospital’s surgeons with technical assistance provided by Taiwanese specialists.

The man received more than 60 percent to the right side of his liver from his 34-year-old cousin, during the 13-hour operation.

He regained consciousness in the morning of Dec. 16 and is now in a stable condition in an intensive care unit.

The doctors say he was suffering from cirrhosis at the last stage with symptoms like swollen abdomen and vomiting blood./.
