Tomar Bhupinder and Frank Kueppers, senior officials in Red Cross organisations in Vietnam , have been honoured for promoting charitable and humanitarian activities around the country.

Bhupinder, Chief Representative of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Vietnam , and Kueppers, from Germany’s Red Cross in Vietnam, were presented with the insignia ‘For the cause of Vietnam ’s Red Cross’ in Hanoi on November 7.

In his address, Doan Van Thai, Vice President and Secretary General of Vietnam's Red Cross said that Vietnam highly regards the contributions made by Bhupinder and Kueppers. He went on to say that he hoped they will continue to support humanitarian activities in the country, which promotes friendship and solidarity between the Vietnamese and peoples around the world.

Bhupinder was recognised for helping Vietnam’s Red Cross to develop teams of volunteers and enhance its financial management.

During Kueppers’s five-year term in the country, he helped Vietnam’s Red Cross carry out a number of projects on capacity building, community healthcare and advising people in localities prone to natural disasters on suitable ways of earning an income.

On the occasion, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations also presented the insignia ‘For Peace, Friendship Amongst Nations’ to Bhupinder.-VNA
