Hungary’s training of Vietnamese experts, physicians, engineers and artists over the past years was significant to the national construction and development in Vietnam.

The remark was made by Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan at a get-together held by the Hungarian Embassy in Vietnam in Hanoi on March 5 to mark the 165th anniversary of Hungary’s National Day (March 15, 1848-2013).

Present at the function, visiting Hungarian Minister of Human Resources Zoltan Balog said the celebration aims to represent the Hungarian people’s aspiration for freedom.

As a country that also went through a number of struggles to win national independence, Hungary always followed Vietnam ’s fights with deep sympathy, he said.

For his part, Minister Luan spoke highly of the traditional friendship between the two nations, which has been fostered on the basis of mutual trust, respect and assistance since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties more than 60 years ago.

Regular exchange of all-level delegations has brought bilateral ties in various fields such as politics-diplomacy, economics-trade, culture, and education-training to new height, he said.

Luan took the occasion to thank the Hungarian Government and people for their official development assistance (ODA), saying the source was very important for Vietnam ’s socio-economic development.

The minister expressed his belief that with efforts made by both sides, the traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary will further develop in the future for the benefits of the two peoples as well as for peace and cooperation in each region and the world at large.-VNA
