India is ready to help Vietnam train scientific experts, said Prof. Dr. Dinesh Abrol, President of the Indian Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).

The Indian official made the affirmation while working with a delegation from Vietnam ’s Ministry of Science and Technology led by Tran Minh Dung, the ministry’s chief inspector, during its visit to India from August 15-25.

The Vietnamese delegation also worked with officials from the CSIR’s Intellectual Property Rights Management Department, the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion under the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Indian National Agency for Laboratory Management and the Quality Council of India.

The officials discussed policies on the protection of patents and intellectual property rights, and goods quality management.

According to Dung, the Indian side was enthusiastic to share experience with Vietnam in using open source code in the pharmaceutical sector to produce low-cost medicines for poor people as well as help Vietnam build health care service quality standards./.
