Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia’s police on December 20 reported that three people have been arrested over a suspected suicide bomb attack at an undisclosed location near the country’s Java island.

According to Martinus Sitompul, a spokesman of the national police, two men were arrested in the Central Java city of Solo on December 18, while a woman was caught on December 15 in Purworejo, also in Central java.

The suspects are linked to a group that was arrested earlier for planning an attack at the changing of the guard at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, the spokesman added.

Indonesian police are currently interrogating 14 suspects related to the planned Jakarta bombing and the plot outside Java.

Indonesia has tightened security at this time of year, following attacks in previous years during Christmas and New Year time.-VNA
