Jakarta (VNA) - Indonesia’s trade surplus in July fell to 590 million USD from 900 million USD since exports fell faster than imports, according to the country’s statistics bureau.

During the month, Indonesia’s exports and imports hit 9.51 billion USD and 8.92 billion USD, respectively, marking a decrease of 17.02 percent and 11.56 percent.

Its major importers such as the US, Japan and China also posted declines, with respective values of 991 million USD, 821 million USD and 915 million USD, down 39 percent, 34 percent and 25 percent.

On the January-July calculation, Indonesia’s trade surplus reached 4.2 billion USD.-VNA
