Jakarta (VNA) – Around 500 Indonesian soldiers began participating in a joint military drill with Malaysian counterparts in Tanjung Gelang, Kuantan Pahang, Malaysia, from July 21 to August 3.

The drill called Latgabma Malindo Darsasa-9AB/2016 aims to boost cooperation and maintain the mutual understanding as well as increasing professionalism of soldiers in the efforts of mitigating natural disasters along the shared border.

Indonesian army affirmed it will continue cooperating with relevant agencies as well as with the military forces of other countries to ensure and improve the combat readiness as well as the capability in natural disaster consequence mitigation and humanitarian aid.-VNA
