Indonesia and Myanmar have agreed to strengthen mutually beneficial partnership in the areas of economy and investment as well as people to people connection and officials’ competence.

The statement was made during a meeting between Indonesian President Joko Widodo and his Myanmar counterpart U Thein Sein in Jakarta on the sidelines of the Asian-African Conference.

They said the cooperation between Indonesia and Myanmar was reviewed to ensure the achievement of development goals and national priorities of both countries.

The two sides highlighted technical assistance provided by UNDP sinced 2013.

In September 2012, UNDP and two governments agreed to collaboration in promoting South-South and Triangular Cooperation as an effective tool for addressing the challenges faced by developing countries in achieving sustainable development.-VNA
