Foreign investment flows to Indonesia during the first half of 2015 led the ASEAN region, said head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Franky Sibarani on September 1.

Statistics by the Financial Times show that foreign investment in Indonesia hit 13.66 billion USD, or 31 percent of all foreign investment pumped into ASEAN, which was much higher than other ASEAN member states, such as Vietnam with 7.53 billion USD (17 percent) and Malaysia with 7.01 billion USD (16 percent), Sibarani said.

Major investors to ASEAN countries included China which accounted for 17 percent of the entire investment, Japan (15 percent), Thailand (12 percent), the Republic of Korea (12 percent), Singapore (10 percent), the United States (9 percent), Malaysia (3 percent) and Germany (3 percent).-VNA
