Jakarta (VNA)Indonesian President Joko Widodo visited victims of recent suicide bombings at the Kramat Jati police hospital on May 25.

Double bomb attacks occurred at the Transjakarta bus station in the Kampung Melayu area, east of Jakarta on May 24, killing three police officers and wounding 12 people.

President Widodo shortened his visits to Malang, East Java and Boyolali, Central Java to visit the victims of the bomb attacks in Jakarta.

The Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for the bomb attacks. It stated that the attack was carried out by IS soldiers.

Earlier, Indonesian police announced the blasts were linked with IS and revealed the identity of the two suspected suicide bombers, who both died in the attack. They were Ichwan Nurul Salam and Ahmad Sukri, both 31 years old.

Salam lived in the metropolis of Bandung in West Java province, while Skri was a tailor in Garut town.

This was the bloodiest attack in Indonesia since the Jakarta suicide bombings in January 2016.-VNA
