Hanoi (VNA) – The unemployment rate in Indonesia fell to 5.61 percent in August 2016 from 6.18 percent of the same month last year thanks to the country’s improving economy.

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, 7.03 million Indonesian people were unemployed among the nation’s total workforce of 125.44 million in the month.

The number of working people increased by 3.59 million people from 114.84 million in July.

Indonesia’s economy grew 5.02 percent in July – September from the same period last year.

The Southeast Asian nation targets 5.2 percent growth by year’s end.-VNA
