Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received a delegation of international auditors led by Josef Moser, Secretary General of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) in Hanoi on July 25.

At the reception, Dung stressed that Vietnam attaches importance to audit work as it helps the National Assembly and the Government better manage financial resources and prevent corruption.

He affirmed support for the independent performance of the State Audit of Vietnam (SAV), expressing wish that INTOSAI will closely coordinate with the SAV in experience sharing, human resource training and institutional perfection.

Josef Moser, who is in Vietnam to attend a seminar on the legal position of the State Audit and Auditor General in the Constitution of Vietnam, affirmed that INTOSAI will coordinate with and assist Vietnam in policy consultation and human resource straining.

He said that through audit activities, INTOSAI, which now has 190 member countries, has made active contributions to promoting transparency, reducing poverty and ensuring good financial management for its member countries.

On the same day, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan also received representatives from the State Audit Agencies of Austria, Indonesia, the Republic of Korea and South Africa./.
