Binh Duong (VNA) – The International Three-Cushion Billiards Tournament BTV-Becamex IJC Cup 2017 opened in the southern province of Binh Duong on July 14.

The event gathers 60 Vietnamese players from 22 localities nationwide, including Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, the defending champion of the tournament and Ma Minh Cam, title holder of the national tournament. They will compete in the event alongside four foreign players from Japan and the Republic of Korea (RoK).

After the opening ceremony, 48 players from 22 localities of Vietnam entered the first day of the preliminary round. Meanwhile, 12 seeded Vietnamese players and four foreign players are exempted from the preliminary.

The match between Han Ji Seung from the RoK and Ngo Khac Vu of Vietnam ended with a 40-30 victory for the RoK player. Japanese player Yoneyama Satoru defeated Nguyen Truong Minh Trong with a close result of 40-39.

The tournament is co-organised by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Binh Duong Radio and Television Station. The final match and closing ceremony are scheduled for July 16.-VNA
