The tournament is a FIDE (World Chess Federation) rating event and played according to the Swiss system of nine rounds.
Strongest players at the tournament include Vietnam’s two grandmasters Le Quang Liem and Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son.
Major rounds of the tournament, which will go on till Jan. 9, will be posted live at the website http://chess.hdbank.com.vn./.
