HCM City (VNA) – About 180 outstanding children from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia have gathered at an international exchange progamme entitled “Vong tay ban be” (Friend’s arms) which opened in Ho Chi Minh City from July 28.

Participating children will have a chance to learn about the history and cultural tradition of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general.

Under the programme, the children will visit historical relic sites, museums and traditional trade villages in the city and take part in several cultural and art exchange activities.

Vuong Thanh Lieu, Vice Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s HCM City chapter, said that such activities will help the young generation to gain more knowledge about the culture, history and friendship of the three countries.

On July 28, the participants offered flowers to President Ho Chi Minh at a park dedicated to him on Nguyen Hue Street, District 1.-VNA
