The Japanese Government has pledged to provide nearly 580,000 USD in non-refundable aid to five infrastructure projects in Vietnam.

Accordingly, about 8,000 residents in Nam Thanh commune, Nam Dan district, central Nghe An province are expected to access clean water thanks to a new water supply system.

The aid will also be used to expand and upgrade several primary and secondary schools in the northern provinces of Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hoa Binh and Lang Son.

Speaking at the signing ceremony for the aid in Hanoi on November 27, Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Fukada expressed his belief that the five projects will be useful and help improve the lives of people in the benefited regions.-VNA
