The Japanese Embassy in Vietnam on Feb. 8 handed over a two-storey building at Ta Pe primary school in Dien Bien Dong district of the northern mountainous province of Dien Bien to the district People’s Committee for management and operation.

Built with a total investment of 2.25 billion VND, with 1.49 billion VND coming from the Japanese Government, the building has six classrooms.

It is expected to create better learning conditions for local children, especially those of ethnic minority groups, and help to maintain a stable number of pupils.

In the 2011-2012 academic year, Ta Pe primary school has almost 160 pupils, mostly from Ta Pe A, Ta Pe B and Thanh Ngam villages./.
