Japan, RoK, US hold talks in Cambodia

At their meeting, the ministers discussed the nuclear issue of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and other current issues of concern in the region. They were unanimous to continue to work closely to approach the DPRK in line with the United Nations’ declaration, issued after the country’s missile launching in April.
This is the first time Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba has taken part in trilateral talks with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the RoK’s Foreign Minister Kim Sung Hwan, since he assumed the post in September, 2011.
However, the DPRK’s Foreign Minister Pak Ui Chun, who attended the 19th ARF, stated that the country’s nuclear plans are to protect it from external risks.-VNA
