The Japanese Communist Party (JCP) will do its best to intensify ties with the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) for the sake of the two nations, said JCP Vice Chairman and Director of International Department Ogata Yasuo.

Meeting with Politburo member and head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for Organisation To Huy Rua in Hanoi on March 26, Ogata said the relationship between the two parties has been lifted to a greater heights since JCP Chairman Kazuo Shii’s visit to Vietnam last September.

He also cited the fifth theoretical discussion held by the two parties in Tokyo recently and the meeting between the JCP Chairman and President Truong Tan Sang during the latter’s visit to Japan earlier this month as evidence of the fine relationship between the two parties.

Rua congratulated the JCP on its past achievements, particularly the successful hosting of its 26th Congress. He said he is confident in its progress in the coming time.

He said the JCP Vice Chairman’s visit will enrich the extensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan.

Earlier, head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Hoang Binh Quan held talks with the Japanese guest, during which both sides reached consensus on facilitating the exchange of delegations and information, and working closely together at multilateral party forums.

They will also push forward links between their youth unions and media organisations along the way.

The Japanese delegation will leave Vietnam on March 28.-VNA
