Japan ’s Aichi prefecture is willing to support Vietnam in cleft lip and palate surgery, cancer treatment and other fields, the Aichi Governor said.

Hideaki Omura, Governor of Japan’s central prefecture of Aichi was received by Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan on April 16 in Hanoi . He is accompanied by almost 50 representatives on a visit to Vietnam .

Reviewing the Vietnam-Japan friendly, cooperative relations in recent times, Vice President Doan stressed that Japan has supported Vietnam in social and health care fields.

In the context of good strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan , the Vice President expressed hopes that Aichi prefecture will continue to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam ’s localities.

Aichi is the largest economic and industrial centre in central Japan , accounting for 10 percent of Japan ’s GDP. It coordinated with Vietnam quite early, with about 80 businesses now investing and doing business in Vietnam , helping cooperation develop more closely, especially in economic field.

Aichi has signed many agreements with Vietnamese ministries and sectors and its Chubu International Airport is implementing direct air routes to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City .

At the reception, the Aichi Governor said his prefecture wants to increase flights to Vietnam.-VNA
