Hanoi (VNA) – Special Advisor to the Japan- Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance Tsutomo Takebe stressed that exchanges between people, legislators and localities lay a firm foundation for the bilateral ties to advance strongly.

He made the remark at a meeting with Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Party Secretary and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Personnel Commission in Hanoi on July 21.

Chinh hailed the Japanese guest’s constructive contributions to the friendship between the two countries, parliaments and people.

He recognised the guest’s efforts in speeding up the implementation of cooperative projects between the two countries over culture and education, in particular the Vietnam-Japan University and the Japan-Vietnam Culture Festival.

He stated that training high-quality human resources has been defined as one of the three strategic breakthroughs pursued by Vietnam in its development strategy.

He hoped that the close and productive collaboration between relevant agencies will put the Vietnam-​Japan University into operation shortly, thus promoting the bilateral friendship.

Tsutomo Takebe briefed his host of the tempo of the Vietnam-Japan University project and the organisation of the Japan-Vietnam Culture Festival in the coming time.

He expressed his hope to continue receiving efficient assistance and cooperation from Vietnamese sectors and agencies.

He pledged to do his utmost to foster the friendship between Japan and Vietnam.-VNA
