Hanoi (VNA) Low-budget carrier Jetstar Pacific has sealed a deal to purchase ten A320 CEO Sharklet aircraft from the European aviation giant Airbus.

The agreement was announced on July 12 during the 2016 Farnborough International Air Show in the United Kingdom.

“This agreement marks a milestone in our development,” Chief Executive Officer of Jetstar Pacific Le Hong Ha said, adding that the order will be delivered in 2017.

The new aircraft will allow Jetstar Pacific to expand its operation on its international network from Vietnam as part of the wider Jetstar Group. With low operating costs and a comfortable cabin, the A320 enables the airline to offer passengers a quality value-based product in a highly competitive environment, he noted.

The A320 CEO Sharklet is the latest version of the Airbus A320 family with the widest cabin in the single aisle market.

According to Jetstar Pacific, the airline will receive four Airbus A320s by the end of 2016 before welcoming ten A320 CEO Sharklet planes in 2017 as part of its expansion plan between 2016 and 2020.

The carrier, a member of the Jetstar Group, is operating 105 Airbus A320s on about 4,000 flights to 75 destinations in 17 countries weekly.-VNA
