The tournament, jointly held by Vietnam Basketball Federation and Khanh Hoa provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will select the best two teams to represent Asian countries at the World U17 Basketball Championship, to be held in 2012 in Lithuania .
Teams are divided into groups and will compete in three rounds and 57 matches. Host country Vietnam initially faces the Philippines and Indonesia in group D.
The tournament runs until Oct. 28./.
