Vientiane (VNA) - The Vietnamese Ministry of Justice stands ready to help Laos train a contingent of quality personnel in legal and judicial fields, Minister Ha Hung Cuong assured Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thamavong in a reception in Vientiane on December 25.

The support will form part of a project to develop the Lao Judicial Training Academy, he said, adding that he hopes the Lao government will back the project – a joint work between the Vietnamese and Lao Ministries of Justice.

Cuong expressed his belief that the 2015 Constitution of Laos recently promulgated by the President Chummaly Sayasone will lay a foundation for Laos to effectuate renovation policies.

Thamavong, for his part, praised the outcomes of talks between the two justice ministers.

He said the enhanced collaboration between the two ministries will contribute to building respective rule-of-law State, fine-tuning the legal system and building an environment to exercise rights to democracy and people’s mastery.-VNA
