Kazakh Parliament’s Lower House Speaker Zhakupov Kabibolla Kabenovich began an official visit to Vietnam on March 29 at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

At talks held the same day, Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung welcomed the visit of the Kazakh Parliament’s Lower House leader and his attendance at the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly (IPU-132), which is an important diplomatic event for Vietnam.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese NA and people wish to deepen the ties between Vietnam and Kazakhstan.

He suggested the two sides work together to increase the bilateral trade to 240 million USD in the near future, noting that the free trade agreement (FTA) between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) will open huge cooperation opportunities for the two countries once it is signed.

The Vietnamese National Assembly and Government will create favourable conditions for Kazakh businesses to operate in Vietnam, he said, adding that the visit is expected to set off closer cooperation between the two countries’ parliaments, not only in exchanging law-making experience but also supporting at regional and global parliamentarian forums

Meanwhile, the Kazakh lawmaker suggested the two countries actively promote cooperation in engineering, shipbuilding and industry.

He invited Vietnamese businesses to attend the EXPO-2017 in Kazakhstan to expand trade ties with foreign partners.-VNA
