Seoul (VNA) – Kumho Tire Co., Inc will continue to sponsor activities of the Association of Vietnamese People in the Republic of Korea (RoK) under an agreement signed between the two sides in Seoul on May 11.

Accordingly, Kumho Tire will provide 140 million won (about 120,000 USD) for the association’s operations and organisation of cultural events in two years, starting on April 1.

The sponsorship agreement was inked by representatives of the association, Kumho Tire and the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK.

This is the third time the company has funded the association’s activities, after 2012 and 2014 (also with 140 million won apiece).

At the signing ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Huu Chi appreciated Kumho Tire’s assistance and pledged that the funding will be used for the right purpose in an effective manner.

For his part, Kumho Tire co-CEO Lee Han-seop said although the total value is not big, the sponsorship is very meaningful to his company. He hopes that the money will help the Vietnamese association conduct practical activities in the time ahead.
