Labour Hero title bestowed upon Military Bank
President Truong Tan Sang presented the Labour Hero title to the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) for its outstanding achievements in business from 2005–2014 at a ceremony in Hanoi.
President Truong Tan Sang pins the Labour Hero title up the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank's flag (Source: VNA) Speaking at the event, General Ngo Xuan Lich, chief of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People’s Army, said the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of Defence acknowledged efforts made by the bank since it was established in 1994.
Amid regional and global economic changes, the bank has managed to maintain stable operation and fulfil its tax obligation. It has been one of banks taking the lead in implementing the State Bank’s banking-restructuring blueprint, he said.
MB Director General Le Cong expressed his gratitude toward the honour and pledged to strive for further achievements contributing to national socio-economic development.
The MB’s total asset leaped to 212 trillion VND (9.4 billion USD) in November 2015 from some 8.2 trillion VND (363.9 million USD) in 2005. Charter capital hit 16 trillion VND (710 million USD) from 450 billion VND (19.9 million USD).
November’s before-tax profit reached more than 2.9 trillion VND (128.7 million USD), an increase of over 2.7 trillion VND (119.8 million USD) compared to that recorded a decade ago.-VNA
